One month on being a brahmachari in technology

Its been one month since I began my college life at SNGCE and just like tenth graders were excited about plus two , so were us : new era idealess freshers !
The first day , began with a little fun by seniors. Ofcourse , it has to be so ,right ?
If to talk about my class ,50%+ are from far off places as compared to other classes.
The common backbencher praising stuffs are some bullcraps . Sit in second last bench , that's more preferable. It has valid reasons too.
As the Bible says , no door will be opened unless you knock it , the first thing to make the door get opened is to find the door. Ofcourse , it's like that. You need to reach there. It's a long way there.
But when the classes has begun and reached full fledge , things were found to be entirely different .
First thing I understood was :
Though some parts of syllabus are damn boring , all you've got to do and could do is to mug up the entire thing or the university is gonna screw you from all possible sides. I was looking for some technical books for my first year common electrical syllabus and I got to realise some facts:
The present day electrical engineering syllabus is the same thing that my dad studied 30 years before .Thank god my grandfather never did a BTech , in that case I might had to compare that.
Nandan Nilakeni in a TED X talk why only a small percentage of passed out graduates from Indian universities are instantly employed. Now I understood a part of that.
Even though people want to do engineering , many of them are addicted to common 'system'eering non-senses ; people still want that degree from an aided college . Screw the traditionalists , university released BTech results recently and I found that Tyre toppers were from private colleges. Many government engineering colleges are in pity conditions , when you look at their infrastructure .I accept the degree from such colleges are having a higher brand value , but the attitude of some people towards private colleges can't be tolerated. Some were still trying to get hibernated from here.
'Girls' are that organisms that are excessively present in all branches except mechanical engineering and in a small amount in naval architecture.
(Pardon me girls, for refering you as organisms , we too are.)
All institutions will have that bunch of guys/girls who won't do the things or won't let others to get the stuff happened.Ofcourse ,here too there is a gang. Internals are something precious to be guarded for ,I found a guy near the drawing class who was supposed to pass out in 2009 , but couldn't afford to get a paper cleared as he lacked internal marks even though he passes university exam . Now he is working for the internals . Buses are the place to get some sleep ,I never used to go by school bus during school days , when I grew up ,I've got to go by college bus.On the very fine day when I was on the uniform for the first time ,Mr. Collector declared a one week holiday .Teachers were someone ferocious only during school days , here these posts are actually filled up by nice people.
Some people will seem to be looking highly cunning, intelligent and being one among the brightest minds of the country, unless they open their mouth and solve all our doubts .This place had a lot of them.

'WHAT YOUNG INDIA WANTS' AND 'MBA AT 16' : Two books I recommend to teens .

I don't usually read lot of books nowadays and have never reviewed any books yet in this blog , and this one is also not one.
I don't have a pile of literature at my home except books by Chetan Bhagat and Shiva trilogy .I usually read some Sci-Fi kind of books , but I am not here to review about one of them , but to quote about two books which I would recommend to all.
"WHAT YOUNG INDIA WANTS " by Chetan Bhagat and
"MBA at 16 " by Subroto Bagchi .
I would say ,both are having an extra brain in their own fields. It has to be, right ?
CB has two great Indian institutes as his Alma matter :IIT-D ,IIM-M. The other Guy co-founded Mind tree .
I've read 'WHAT YOUNG INDIA WANTS' during last December , it had many of his articles published yet and came to read 'MBA AT 16' last month.
If to say about WHAT YOUNG INDIA WANTS , CB's articles addresses many problems in India in his own way of representation , the short story at the end is perfectly a true thing that happens on many plus two passouts .
Coming to MBA AT 16 , it taught me what investment is about , terms in business , outsourcing .Etc.
Some things which I  understood from the entire book are :
1. complex phrases like 'strategic and effective way of exploiting information technology systems ' may pull out the eyes of a lemman , but believe me people , if you could read that once without any mistake you've learnt half of it.
2. Investment :  I've been hearing this word since my kiddo times , now it's a kiddy thing for me after I've read this.
and many more.
When both these books are completely read , it puts you up for something special ,
it helps in interviews I would say ,
for public speaking ,
for seminars ,
it may even brings it the sleeping ideas and trigger an entrepreneurship like I've got one in my mind ,I will write about that shortly .
Take time , read both.

The keam Run : final stage !

Hope everyone of you is happy with your results .
I know the word everyone doesn't actually imply anything.

Engineering seat allotment is about to be announced in kerala according to kee rank and options candidates have registered . So ,many of us are in big anxiety.
Hope everyone had chosen a stream in which you are more interested in . Don't listen to the talks of others especially your relatives.Parents may remain quiet, because they may be in a dilemma . But the remaining members (in the name of Relations) would spoil your interest & career .
So Please don't listen to them . Be strong & sure in what you want to do and which would suit more for your career and more of it :YOU !Go for your passion . But certain courses are research oriented and has less opportunities.Its a fact.
People may say ,if you take this particular stream , you will end up jobless. Etc. ,it may be sometimes correct. For example ,taking up courses leading to aviation industry is risky as the industry isn't stable for opportunities. But ,firstly you've got to be satisfied ,not someone else !
Like Aamir Khan says in 3 idiots ,Passion matters ! Always and every time. !

I had come across a news in matrubhumi yesterday regarding seat allotment process ,that government is favoring private self-financing colleges in allotment process. Apart from last years, there are only 2 allotments this time ,if any govt. merit seat remain unoccupied after allotment ,the management of that college has the right to make it management seat ,if the allotted candidate isn't making admission procedures to the allotted college ,they've got to pay fine .Now ,the people are protesting against it .
But ,may I ask why ?
Why these people are protesting ?
All the rules and regulations regarding the entire Kerala engineering and medical entrance thing is specified in the KEAM BIBLE :"the 128 paged keam prospectus" .
All these are also clearly mentioned during option registration as guidelines ,it's meaningless to protest now.
Self-financing colleges run on there own , according to present rules 50 % of their seats are to be filled by the government allocations .It's a fact that for many years ,many of these seats were remaining unfilled at many colleges throughout Kerala. It means a great loss to them . Many people simply gave random options at these colleges and later if they claim that they were not seeking admission there ,what do we call these people as ?

Last year thousands of engineering seats were remaining unoccupied in Kerala. When these facility is available in our own state ,I've seen many people going to some engineering colleges in very poor condition  at Tamil Nadu ,Karnataka etc.

Getting an engineering seat is not a big issue nowadays. There are lots of engineering colleges all around. There are around 150 engineering colleges in India including government colleges ,government controlled self-financing colleges,aided,private self financing colleges etc.
If you've money you could get one . I've seen many people spending lot of money in luxuries ,buying high end gadgets throughout years ,when they have got to spend something for education ,they don't have any . So awesome !

Wish everyone get the trade seeking at the college they want it !

 But , there too : you had to choose the stream first ,then the college.

Child marriage : does it still exist ?

This title may find little weird to be found in this blog , why does Jish write this child marriage thing all on a sudden ?
I accidently saw , this matter about child marriage with a recent survey report at Indi blogger which was shocking. I decided to make my own contribution towards the cause and here it is !
We all know about the child marriage which was very common during the past century and it is banned now. That is ,a girl child has to be 18 years old to be legally eligible to get married in India. If she is married before this age , its duly child marriage. Actually, the word 'girl' doesn't have any meaning here , say 'woman' .
I still remember my grand grand mother who passed away before 5 years. She was mother to 8 children at a very younger age. She was married at the age of 14 to my grand grand father. This may not sound anything fishy as this was common during that period of time. What if this happens now in this 21st century ? It may sound little , slightly or say : most certainly rubbish. The fact is that , this rubbish still exists in many parts of the world, particularly in third world developing countries like India .

I am a native of kerala , the most literate state in India (according to sources) . If you have thought that child marriage doesn't exist in educated communities , its a wrong concept . It exists inbetween educated ,as well as uneducated people. Poverty , cultural norms are another root cause of this . Astrology factors might say that the girl had to be married at a certain age or her marriage would never happen etc  kind of things .This is because girls are considered as subjects that may remain as burden to family as their age hikes up .Girls don't have a voice in many families. This is more on rural areas , but the rate is not low in towns as well as cities. They have to or are forced to obey the society.

I am 18 years old and a neighbour girl of mine (just 17 years old) got married .She just had finished her +2 .Many girls in northern kerala and many north eastern , central India gets married by the age of 14,15,16,17 etc. Even though the legal age is 18 , I suggest this has to be risen for them to acquire proper education and be physiologically ready enough.

Child marriage is more common in states like Bihar , where more than half of marriages happening are child marriages. Girls complete their physical growth earlier in many parts of India now and became potent.But mentally , they might haven't reached the apt age . When these girls are married at this butterfly age , their life is shattered. They are subjected to  sexual  intercourse at that very younger age and they get pregnant by the age of 15,16 etc . This affects their health and also their children's health.They will be haunted by illnesses throughout the life.

Imagine a girl getting married and being a mother by the age of 15 , then what is she ? A machine to produce kids ? It's horrible This process repeats and leads to a very pathetic condition.
Can you imagine how it will be ?

Now , lets make a contrary imagination . Imagine a girl reaching puberty and let her grow healthy so as to prepare for healthy future.Let her be properly educated.Let her visit a gynaecologist regularly .Let her acquire good education , then a job . Now , let her get married and have children.Imagine this process continue for generations .
How it will be ? In that way, we could empower the position of girls in this society , this prevent child marriage.

There is a tradition called Mysore marriage in South India. Young girls at 14,15,16 from the states of Tamil nadu , northern kerala , karnataka etc. get married to people from Mysore who drive these girls to a pathetic condition , in many homes, these girls are treated as coolis and maids. There are many other kind of harrasments happening against girls at different places.

For girls to get proper importance and notice in society , they must be properly educated , so that they could find a job and earn on their own. Let them reach a good age apt for marriage and give them enough freedom till that .Let her get married on her wish. Moreover , the society must change the attitude of getting their girl children married earlier. This is a harmful tendancy which has to see a substantial change in the coming years.
In that way , we could avoid seeing child moms as well as at the same time :a better society , a better nation, a better world.

The " Why do you ask my marks , society ? " dilemma

First of all let me tell you something, whatever I am specifying here is/was/will be experienced by thousands of others of my same age.

Recently I had completed my schooling and is seeking admission for graduation .
Past two years , was really hectic and busy for me , for many others .That's the workload , Indian students have. Whatever it is ,I don't have any complaint , why should I ? It's the system right ?
I've done enough with it.

So, what I gotta say here is about a society that is interested in our marks more than us.
It's about peoples weird attitude of distinguishing children by marks or digits that determine their value and dignity in this contemporary Indian society . Some digits in a piece of paper do not form the estimate of a student's capability. In India , the neighbours and relatives are more curious about our exam results than us. I was subjected to this for the past 3 months : boards , entrance examinations etc. When many particular entrance examination results were about to be published ,I was in such a condition to plug of my landphone cables and switch of mobile phones, because all the relatives and family friends kept calling.

If somehow ,they came to know if I have less marks :
1. Some leave the matter and say it's ok.
(it's OK)
2. Some start questioning "what happened ? How ? Why ? ......blah clash....
(I hate it. )
3. Some say/guess how it happened : you were spending too much  time for fun , on the internet , cricket.etc.
( Did they write the exam ? I am the one who did . )
4. There is another category .They even criticise for not scoring and starts comparing us to others.
(I hate it ,I hate them most )

Recently , my board exam results were published and it was totally unbelievable and unexpected for me and many others. Thousands of students in my region got unexpected marks. My entire family was shocked. I have just given for verification and I got a 5 digit case number generated .
A very close relative of me came and started criticising the issue. It was the worst time of my life and I was in a point of dilemma on what to do . This guy made a horrifying talk , compared me to some others  and left . I was in a horrible out of sense mood then. If ,I was perfectly alright standing there , for sure he would have heard back enough.  Things became normal in some days . I applied for verification.

I won't forget many others who supported me when I fell : firstly my parents , some relatives, some particular teachers ,friends (they deserve the great salute )
But , that relative and his evil deed then ,: I can't forget that ever in my life . I don't have any anger against him , I just don't have any feelings for him. Now ,I am relaxed because that bang is almost over , but I  haven't seen him since then , not because I hate him or so ,I just don't care for him .
People , we need good marks . Marks on certificate may or may not depict his theoretical knowledge. There's a hospital in my town , the physician their took almost ten years to acquire his MBBS degree , but frankly speaking , the patients leave him with utter satisfaction than any other doctors of that age. ( I was not telling to take ten years for the degree , but his success as a doctor ) .
People ,there are ups and downs in children's academics . It's their matter , leave it to them and their parents .They will decide themselves.

Don't brag in asking what happened , the boy next door scored that much , why don't you ? it's psychopathic , very cruel. I've experienced that . I know how it feels to be. I don't have a time ahead during which the people ask about entrance exams etc. I am reflexes with a free mind , I am not flummoxed to make a point on what happened kinda things .

Most of the things that you learn in the Indian 10+2 system is useless and your rating in that is never questionable . It's not any kind of past sin that will hunt you for the rest of your life.

My Hectic Expirience with JEE MAINS

I am here with a hectic vacation , actually we don't say vacation , its actually the so-called turning point of life .April and May is the month of entrance examinations in India , particularly April . VITEEE ,KEAM , AEEE ,  CUSAT , BITSAT ,JEE (I am here to say about that ) and many more ,it takes out all the possible abbreviations ABC to  XYZ .

This is just the expirience part only ,the opinion part will be out later

I too took up the JEE examinations today on online mode at a hectic place around 40 km from Perumbavoor , my hometown . It was little hard to be reached and some candidates from other districts were also there , I am not specifying centre name , but I will say about the infrastructure of the place .Actually it was a self financing engineering college , say a budding engineering college , because this is the first engineering college I am seeing with just one single building. Frankly speaking , the school which I've studied for 14 years (KG &  1 - 12 classes) has got much better infrastructure. Only few self financing engineering colleges in Kerala are upto the mark and this was a finest example.

At the reception ,a board said somewhat like "... vision : to create globally proficient and competent professionals  .... " ,I thought for a second myself , where this is the place where such professionals are going to be cast out. " OK .. Jish.. , stop thinking ..you got enough time for that after all of these are over " , that was the second thing that came to my mind.

Coming back to the test , the online candidates are supposed to be reporting 1.5 hours before the commencement of examination .So ,I had to reach the centre by 7.30 AM, and I reached too , much earlier and the biggest fun was that candidates who came after 7.30 till 8 AM , were also let inside the hall . Then, what are the rules for ? Ok ,let them be , it's a matter concerning future of students, let them be in .

There were only 110 computer systems available at the centre and 100 of them were put ready for jee paper 1 online test. Before  registration , we stood in two long queues for completing the registration procedures and it resembled to the queues at beverages corporation outlets at kerala ,later one more guy came at the counter and the queue got split into two .I had to stand there in queue for around 30 minutes and of course others two . The centre lacked much invigilators . If there were two more people at the counter ,the long queues of students who were supposed to be attempting a three hour examination after that should have reduced .

After my registration ,I was placed at a system and after the hall was filled with candidates , a person came and specified the procedures to be followed and made clarifications .

Then the exam started and 9 AM and we had to sign in . I signed in ,and made an overall gothrough . There was an option for overall watching of all the questions at one time . ( there were big rumours whether it's possible or not. ) .The air conditioner was ON when I got in to the hall ,but  after ten minutes and since then to the end of examination for the next three hours ,I found that the AC was off ,may be they were saving power for KSEB and all of kerala .

Then came the outstanding part of my examination .After 10 minutes my computer got off ,the power cable was having loose contact  problem . I immediately called out an invigilator at the hall ,she came and saw my system off and asked me " Why did you turn it off ? " . She looked at me as if I had done a cardinal sin . Actually I felt to ask her ,whether she lacked common sense  .I was having only mouse enabled  with me and keyboard was locked . I said calmly ," it automatically went off ". She called out another guy . He came and made a watch and he too called out for another guy. I thought for how many times ,this is gonna repeat . Atlast , a person  came and made me sit in another system .I logged in with my roll number . The timer was running . I don't actually remember whether the timer was running or not during the time lapse happened inbetween . 

Then the examination went on .

I gave CBSE a feed back about the issue even though it is stinking to type in a virtual keyboard and signed out .

So ,what I want to ask is how irresponsible the people there were ? They should've made sure all things were fine .Many others also had system replacement due to various issues .

I am not specifying the number of questions I attended ,whether I guessed or not etc. ,You can guess ! 

But soon after the exam ,I had conversation with many candidates and most of them mixed PCM with probability ,guessing out was common .The exam was not easy too.

Good luck for the candidates who are going to take up JEE in the upcoming days as well as the CBSE boards results .(The last one may pain a lot .)

Unfortunately ,I am travelling at present and would like not to have an elaborate one this time , first of all a salute to NHAI , for keeping the part of NH 47 which I am travelling by now under very good condition .
(I am not sure about other parts ).
I am shortening this post than usual posts.

Words like Hindustani , josh , Indianism generally exist in dictionaries in most part of the nation still.
In India , republic day and independence day still confine to the celebration of govt. authorities and military , hoping for a change in the coming  times , wish you all republic day .
Freedom is , was and will not be free forever .somebody has paid for it , and someone is waiting to paid for it ,my salutes to all the uniform forces of the nation in this republic day.
The recent days in India were filled with ness of brutal rapes and killings , particularly the media enjoyed a lot , but were were the massive youth when Lt. Saurabh Kalia was brutally tortured and killed against conventional laws of war ?
Ok ,I am here not to criticise or put a protest here , just felt to remark these things ,
Now ,I reached a toll gate , almost lost the impression I had got before .
Hihi , the contemporary Indian in me got awake when money matters came
On an early morning drive to @ haripad ..
